Introduction

In January, David shared with us - in all the congregations - from Hebrews 11 in a message called ‘By Faith’. It’s available on our YouTube channel. David’s message reminded us that:

• Abel - by faith - brought his best: his first portion;
• Noah - by faith - built an ark: a place of safety, peace and strength. He built and prepared for something not yet seen; and
• Abraham & Sarah - by faith - believed God’s promises.

With an emphasis on Giving Thanks and Looking ahead, our annual church members meeting - and this brochure - focuses on these three areas:

What we’re believing: God’s Word in the scriptures

These scriptures (taken from the NIV) are especially helpful for us in bringing some definition to what we’re believing - our sense of vision and direction.

They are all passages we might describe as ‘now and not yet’ scriptures. We see some of the fruit and reality of them now, but there is so much more for us to grow into. They are deep wells for us to draw from.
